We all have heard it a million times. Water, drink more water, there is nothing like water, but what does one do when they want something healthy and cannot find anything. Especially someone on a very restricted autoimmune diet. I was searching high and low, but everything had something I could not have and summer's heat is approaching fast. Then I found it!! My beloved matcha and favorite lemonades combined. I was saved. No more just boring water or plain lemonade, and a cool refreshing way to incorporate my favorite match green tea without all the added junk and bad preservatives, sugar, and etc that Starbucks and everyone else throws into those admittedly delicious oh so bad for you and your waist line drinks.
I needed to make some substitutes to the original recipe that I found here. Thank you Epic Matcha for the recipe you posted that gave me inspiration. Without further redo my Autoimmune Protocol Diet safe Matcha Green Tea lemonade recipe.
Ingredients
2 Cups of Boiling Hot Water
1 Cup Coconut Sugar ( I used a half)
1/2 a Cup of Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
1/2 Tsp of Matcha Powder ( More if you love matcha like me)
1 & 1/2 Cups of Cold Water
Directions
Boil 2 cups of water. Put the sweetener of choice in a pitcher and add the matcha powder. Add the hot water and whisk until all the sugar and matcha are dissolved. This is called a slurry. Add the pre-measured lemon juice and cold water. Whisk until well mixed. Chill in the fridge or pour over ice. Makes a little over two quarts. Garnish with fresh lemon and try some other fruits for garnish if you like. Enjoy!!
